Columbia’s problems are small potatoes compared to what’s happenin’ 120 miles to the east or west. Or even Springfield for that matter.

i live out here and the ppl is who make the neighborhood bad all they do is drink and smoke cigarettes all day long. blk ppl hate each other and they are mad disrespectful to one another. i moved from bk two years ago i live in columbia and ppl out here act mad ignorant like for real its discusting how disrespectful they are . its up to blk ppl to change but we wont so the neighborhoods will stay the same. nuff respect to the young man giving hair cuts cause these mofos out here would rather see you die than give love show love or even care. ppl in N.Y. act nothing like this its sad and im from Brownsville brooklyn ppl still work together wats these ppl excuse 4 real ?

Honestly,Columbia ain’t the safest place most people just need to stay to themselves, don’t get caught up in drugs or the gangs and stay to yourself and it’s all good the crime and killing isnt as high but it definitely happens and it’s scary I remember living in that neighborhood and a shooting happened right across the street from where I stayed I saw a mother crying on her knees for her child.most definitely stay to yourself if you live in parts like the colony’s and bishops .but it’s definitely better now it used to be wayy worse around 2016 ish

This is why I love living in bigger cities. I’ve lived in Austin, Dallas, Houston, Chicago etc there’s just more opportunities to be successful. I think often times these people living in rural areas indulge in crime as a past time or to feel alive and escape boredom.

I am from Detroit. I lived in Charlotte, then Columbia briefly. I wasn’t in the “hood” or maybe I just didn’t know I was in the hood. I liked Columbia. I used to dance at Black Pearl at one point. Columbia isn’t a thriving town to get rich in. It’s very slow. The few people I knew were cool. It’s really nothing to do there, but eat out. They closed all the strip clubs. Lexington and Irmo was mostly white. I don’t think Columbia is as bad as Detroit probably due to the size. I couldn’t get with the slow place. The north is more my style.
