China has a deep and complex cultural heritage, with a number of traditions and lifestyles that are exceedingly different from those in the ‘West’. We all know that where one finds a rich culture you’re never far from traditional foods and unique flavours, and it’s in celebration of China’s culture and food that FoodieHub is searching for the best Chinese restaurant in the world. So pack away the knife and fork, as well as the typical Americanized-Chinese fare, and find out where to find the finest traditional Chinese food. Here’s 32 of the best Chinese restaurants in the world.

FoodieHub obviously starts the beginning of our journey in Beijing, China’s esteemed capital. Tucked away in Beijing’s cramped streets is the grand Jing Yaa Tang, possibly serving the best plate of the famous Peking duck in all of China. Known for its crispy skin and super-tender flesh, Jing Yaa Tang’s duck is oftentimes rivalled by that served in the Flower Drum in Melbourne, or the shiny, crunchy-skinned goose at Yat Lok in Hong Kong.

Out of all the Chinese restaurants around the world, there is still one restaurant which outperforms all others for flavour, tradition, service and taste, and that’s the Sek Yuen in Kuala Lumpur. Sek Yuen stakes a claim on true Chinese culinary estate by remaining faithful to old fashioned Chinese recipes, and preparing them properly, and ensuring that the guest is offered incredible tasting food in large portions; a true sign of traditional and cultural Chinese hospitality.

So that is our tour of the very best Chinese restaurants in 17 cities around the world. Many thanks to the dozens of experts that helped whittle down the above list to the very finest. So, after all of that where would FoodieHub recommend celebrating Chinese New Year if you could only visit one place? That would be Sek Yuen from Kuala Lumpur where Vivian Low led us on a culinary journey across decades. In addition to the delicacies described in her feature above, Sek Yuen is the oldest restaurant continuously serving the deliriously uplifting and delicious Yusheng noodle tradition where diners stand around a platter of noodles, raw fish, vegetables and lemongrass mixing, tossing and hollering all in the name of good luck and good fortune in the coming year.

I’ve eaten at sek yuen a few times. Food is not the best I ever had but the ambience mixed into it, I’d dare say at least a billion people on earth would agree with me

This is from a personal experience. Yes Dynasty in Vancouver is one of the best Chinese Restaurant in the City I’ve been there a few times and quality of the food and taste is consistent. However, HK BBQ Master WAS one of the best if not.. the best in Vancouver. However the quality has gone down quite a bit over the past 2 years or so…
