I have traveled down to Melbourne Florida with Dusty Hayes to meet up with Caleb Couture and do some surf fishing on the beach. Our main goal this trip is to locate a big permit off the beach. This is day one of our journey!

Ok. As we talked about last week I went to honeymoon island. Went to where I would think the pomps would be. Caught 1 whitening and i don’t know 30 catfish. Been there about 3 hr when some oldtimer rolls by telling me the pomps were thick yesterday. Story of my life. I will do this again. Had a great day with the wife and kids. Everyone seems to bet on how far I can chuck bait. They don’t know I am spanning bait out. I am not going to tell them because I got my daughter to do the dishes with one cast. Booyeah.

  19. PICK-the-KICKS on February 1, 2020 at 11:17 pm

What bait are you guys using?

  20. David Brattain on February 1, 2020 at 11:22 pm

Catch them all the time on the Gulf side. It’s really a function of water temperature and time of year. I buy med. shrimp when on sale at the grocery. A pound will last close to a week. The other important trick involves bait-keeper hooks, a small glow-cork close to the hook eye and at least a 2 ounce pyramid sinker unless the surf is calm.

  24. Terry Simmons on February 1, 2020 at 11:29 pm

  26. Cross Saturn on February 1, 2020 at 11:34 pm

My grandpa showed me your channel and its awsome

  27. Andrew Rollins on February 1, 2020 at 11:34 pm

I don’t hear you much about fishing with clams in your videos. In dirty water, you need something the fish can smell. You’ll get some by catch, but you’ll get even more Pompano.

  28. Porkchop's Papi on February 1, 2020 at 11:36 pm

I noticed yous guys are using spining reels as opposed to casting reels. Any reason other than cost?

  29. C. A Revolution on February 1, 2020 at 11:38 pm

I live in Melbourne!! Cool! Lol.

  30. Dj Cheek on February 1, 2020 at 11:39 pm

Forget the "can i see" comments. How about dude in the dirty ass white shirt.. he sounds like he knows what he’s talking about but i cant stand that he keeps jumping in on every fish. Tryin to hand line while other dude is reeling…lol. that would annoy me to fish with him. Keep up the great vids tho.

  31. dynasty4851 on February 1, 2020 at 11:41 pm

Where did you get the pole holders?

  32. Wil H. on February 1, 2020 at 11:44 pm

I noticed using fish bites that a lot of juvenile undersize fish bite in that bait. Haven’t caught anything big with it but will keep plugging along

  41. FireSlayer85 on February 1, 2020 at 11:55 pm

Ive caught permit, cat fish, pompano, and whitings with fish bites. You’re almost guaranteed to catch a fish using fish bites. I back this product up!

  42. Chris Gasson on February 1, 2020 at 11:56 pm

I live in Melbourne and it is fun fishing

  43. Barry Iwashita on February 1, 2020 at 11:56 pm

Not hater… but if u want a better hook up ratio have your leader material come out of from barbed side of eye instead of the back… this will present the hook gap at an optimum angle…. if you’re running with two hooks run one from the barb side and one from the back.. you’ll see witch one has a better hook up ratio…Good fishing to ya

  44. Grand Wonder on February 1, 2020 at 11:59 pm
